Task Description
Groups of students will be creating investigative reports about the various industries in Maine.
This activity needs some lead time, so that students may write to the various Boards (Sardine Council, Lobster Council, Blueberry Board, Potato Board, and the Milk Commission, to name a few) requesting information.
After the information is received, each group will read the information, add material from other sources, and create a news cast.
Student Product/Performance
Students will make their presentations about the industries of Maine to the rest of their class. Each presentation should include factual information, a description of the process used in that industry, the locations, current market figures, and a glimpse into the future for that industry.
