Decks - We Want Decks!

This publication is presented for "Classroom Use Only."  Its intended use is to stimulate and aid in discussion and role playing within a classroom setting.

Mike and Linda McBain purchased a piece of property ten years ago that had a small 12' x 24' camp on it. Over the years they had done some improvements to the camp, like insulating the walls, rebuilding the kitchen, upgrading the bathroom, and siding. Two years ago they moved the building back from the original location of 44' to 127' from the shoreline. Now they want to expand the size of the building. They want to add a living room and a large deck on three sides. The decks would measure 12' x 20'' (12' x 10', 12' x 20', 12' x 10') and the living room would also be 12' x 12'.
