George and Marjorie Johnson would like to purchase a retirement home in your town. They live in Worcester, Mass. and have come to Maine for years during their summer vacations, now they would like to retire here. They have found a little house which they like, but would have to make some improvements to make it a year-round home. The property is in a Resource Protection area, which means there are special considerations as to what can take place there. The building itself is exactly 251' from the shore of the waterway. They would like to build on another room that would extend it 16' closer to the water.
- The Johnsons, or their representative, should prepare diagrams of the current and proposed changes to present to the town officials
- Given this information, would you permit them to expand?
