12/28/11 - Basic and Advanced Erosion Control Practices for Contractors will be offered by Maine DEP on February 22, 2012 at the Kittery Town Hall from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This course is for contractors, landscapers, site evaluators, consultants, federal, state, and municipal officials, and generally anyone interested in certification in basic and advanced erosion control best management practices. 12/6/11 - Safety Enhancement and Scholarship Grant Programs offer financial incentives to participating members of the MMA Worker’s Compensation Fund. Managed through Risk Management Services, the grants are used to purchase safety equipment or services that assist in reducing the frequency and severity of workplace injuries. The deadline for the May 2012 Grants is April 30, 2012.

Directions: From the North: Take I-95 south to Exit 112, turn left off exit ramp. From the South: Take I-95 north to Exit 112A, stay to the right off exit ramp.

Follow road signs to the Augusta Civic Center taking a right onto Community Drive. MMA is located to the left and back of the Augusta Civic Center building and to the right of the University of Maine athletic fields. The Maine Municipal Association sets back at the end of the roadway. If you need assistance while traveling, please call MMA at 623-8428.

Revenue Sharing

3/31/11 - FY 2012 Revenue Sharing Estimates: The FY 2012 Revenue Sharing estimates have been posted on the Treasurer’s website and can be accessed at this link> > >

Please note that the data set posted by the Treasurer includes two different revenue sharing projections. The first projection, highlighted in yellow, is based on a $135 million distribution; that is, the amount of revenue sharing that would be distributed under existing law. By scrolling to the right you will find the second projection, highlighted in dark gray, which is based on the $94 million distribution included as part of the Governor’s proposed budget. Municipal officials are advised to use the figures posted in dark gray when developing municipal budgets.
