Trust
The Health Trust, administered by the MMA, is a self-funded group program committed to providing municipalities, counties, special districts and their employees, retirees and dependents with quality employee benefits programs. The Health Trust provides a high level of service at competitive rates.

Health Plans – The Health Trust offers five different high-quality health insurance plans. All of these plans are administered by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Three of the plans are Point of Service plans, offering benefits both in-network and out-of-network. There are also two Indemnity plans, with deductibles and coinsurance. All plans provide no-cost basic life insurance, retiree coverage, and a prescription drug card with a three-tier copay.

Dental Plans – The Health Trust’s Dental plan provides coverage for preventive, basic, and major services. There is a low deductible, and coverage up to $1,250 per person per calendar year.

Income Protection Plan – The Health Trust’s Income Protection Plan allows employees to choose among three benefit options, all providing weekly short term disability benefits covering non-job related illness and injury for up to 52 weeks.

Long Term Disability Plan – The Health Trust offers a fully-insured Long Term Disability plan through UnumProvident. This plan coordinates with the Income Protection Plan, and starts paying benefits for eligible disabilities after 52 weeks of disability.

Life Insurance Plans – In addition to the Basic Life insurance provided to employees who enroll in the Health Trust’s health insurance plan, the Health Trust also provides Supplemental and Dependent Life insurance to those employers who choose to offer these benefits. All life insurance plans are underwritten by Prudential Life Insurance Company.

Wellness Works – The Health Trust’s Wellness Works program is a comprehensive health education and promotion program that provides personal wellness profile screenings and health education classes at the worksite, newsletters, wellness grants, and lending library materials for Health Trust participants.
