The Screen shot of autoshapes button drop down palette has a number of shapes that can be inserted into the slide. Just click on the shape you want to use. The following is one of the shapes which can be inserted into your slide.

The color is yellow because the fill icon Screen Shot of paint bucket was set to yellow when it was created.

To add text to this shape, you will need to add a text box Screen shot of text box. Put your mouse over the shape to see a text box. This text box was filled with white so that it could be easily seen.

You will need to insert a text box wherever you want text to appear on a slide.

Click the text box icon Screen shot of text box, hold the mouse down, and pull the cursor to the size and shape you want the box.

Click inside the box and begin typing.

The text box background will be the fill color. If you want it to match a page color, select "No Fill" from the color palette so that it won't have a background color.
