PowerPoint: Transitions & Animations Slide 1

Putting action into the presentation.

Transitions deal with the movement from one slide to another. Animations are applied to slide elements like text or an image.

Don't get carried away. These are good to catch the eye and to keep your audience awake, but too much is distracting and annoying. Be careful!

Try these options in our own PowerPoint program. Experiment and be daring.

1. Select "Slide Show" and then "Slide Transition" from the toolbar.

2. "Slide Transitions" will display the following menu:

Set the effects by clicking on the "Effect" button (No Transition is displayed in the image above).

The window which shows the "dog" will illustrate the effect selected. To repeat it, click on the picture.

To add sound, use the pull down menu under "Sound."

Apply the transition to "All" or only the current slide.
