Again, don't get carried away. These are good to catch the eye and to keep your audience awake, but too much is distracting and annoying. Be careful!

Preset Animations

1. Select the image or text box that you want to animate.

2. Select "Slide Show" and then "Preset Animations" from the toolbar. You can quickly pick some standard animations from the menu.

Customizing Animations

1. Select "Custom Animation" which is directly below "Preset Animation."

2. Select the tab which identifies the aspect of the animation that you wish to change.

3. Select a Slide object from the list in the lower-left corner. Click once on the object's name. When it is highlighted, click on the "Effects" tab.

4. Select the effects that you want to apply to the object in the slide.

Play with the different options and watch what they cause to happen in some test slides. People usually end up with a few favorites that they like and will use them over and over again.
