Grant Application Period Opens for FY 2009 Homeland Security Grants in Maine

The grant application period for FY 2009 Homeland Security Grants in Maine is now open.

Eligible applicants are city and county governments, associated public entities and State agencies. For 2009, based on State and Federal Homeland Security priorities, grant application criteria is focused on:

All-hazards emergency planning;

Interoperable communications;

Training and exercise;

Public education and awareness;

NIMS compliance measures; and

School district emergency planning

A total of $2.277 million is available for allocation under the competitive process.

Applications from county and local agencies must be submitted to County EMA offices no later than the Close of Business on Friday, September 25, 2009.
