2008 MMA CONVENTION

Mark your calendars now for the 2008 MMA Convention, October 8-9, at the Augusta Civic Center.

This year’s convention will be a day-and-a-half event, like last year, starting off with a Wednesday luncheon.  The guest speaker for this Opening Luncheon will be distinguished newspaper and television journalist David Broder.   Called “the high priest of political journalism”, Broder writes a twice-weekly column on American politics for the Washington Post.  A Pulitzer Prize winner in 1973, Broder is a regular TV commentator on Meet the Press, Washington Week and CNN’s Inside Politics.

Broder will provide insight on the upcoming November presidential election and how those results may affect state and local governments.

The 2008 MMA Convention will be loaded with information that all elected and appointed municipal officials can use.  Don’t miss it.  Updates on the convention will be put in future issues of the Townsman and posted on the MMA website, www.memun.org
