The U.S. Census Bureau reports that nationally, 62% of Americans have responded to requests to provide data about where they live, how many people are in their households, and the like. But in Maine, the response figure is 54%. Census officials are asking municipal leaders to help with the data collection effort, noting that millions of dollars in federal funding can hang in the balance for Maine.
