Police Officer - Town of Waldoboro

The Town of Waldoboro is accepting applications for a full-time police officer.

Applications can be obtained at the Waldoboro Town Office, 1600 Atlantic Highway, Waldoboro, ME 04572 or at the Town of Waldoboro website (www.waldoboromaine.org).

Minimum qualifications include; a high school diploma or equivalent, good mental and physical condition, no criminal record and a valid motor vehicle license. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age or 20 years of age with 60 college credits.

Preference will be given to full-time certified applicants.


The Town offers a competitive wage and benefits package including retirement, health insurance, and vacation.

Health Insurance

Maine Municipal Employees Health Trust PPO 2500 with additional Health Reimbursement Account. The Town pays 100% for the employee and 85% for a family plan.


Maine State Retirement plan 3C, which includes 2/3 pay after 25 years of service with no age attainment.


  • Hire to 7 years of service- 80 hours per year
  • 7 to 14 years of service-120 hours per year
  • 14 to 20 years of service-160 hours per year
  • 20 or more years of service-200 hours per year

Sick Leave

  • 1.85 hours/week up to 720 hours accumulation


  • 12 paid holidays
