The Topsham Police Department is currently seeking qualified candidates whose personal values match our team’s Core Values of Integrity, Service to others, and Accountability.

Starting pay for a candidate with no prior law enforcement experience ranges from $27.54 to $28.58 based on level of education or prior active-duty military service. Lateral entry candidates are eligible to start at a pay rate up to $33.44 based on their prior law enforcement experience and qualifications.

Requirements:

 Must be at least 21 years of age or 20 years of age with 60 college credit hours.
 Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
 Possess a valid Maine driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 30 days after employment start date.
 Must be able to pass the MCJA ALERT Test, and Physical Fitness Test, (unless already certified officer) prior to interview date.
 Must be in good physical condition and health.
 Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation, polygraph, medical evaluation, and psychological examination.
