The City of Gardiner is seeking a motivated, team-oriented individual to fill the full-time 37.5 hour/week position of Utility Clerk.

This position reports directly to the City Clerk/Tax Collector and is responsible for assisting and supporting the WasteWater Superintendent. The ideal candidate will be able to work well in a fast-paced environment, and have strong administrative, accounting and communication skills.  This person must excel in customer service and have a desire to be part of a great team.

They will process meter reading data, prepare utility bills, process liens, and post payments.  This person is responsible for receiving telephone calls and citizen requests concerning utility billings or services, requests, or concerns; and provides information and assistance to customers. They will assist the WW Director with processing invoices and administering the WasteWater Advisory Board. This position also provides administrative support to various Planning & Economic Development boards and committees; to include posting notices, preparing and distributing meeting agendas, and taking minutes.

The ability to interact effectively with elected officials, community members, and City staff is essential.
