SUMMER POLICE CADET - Portland Police Department – Deadline Extended

Maine’s largest municipal department is currently accepting applications for Police Cadets for the 2024 summer season. Cadets work in teams as a support function for the Police Operations Division. From the end of May through October (hours may decrease after Labor Day), Cadets provide daily foot patrols in Downtown Portland's Old Port and Arts District business area. Start and end dates can be flexible based on needs. Working Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, these highly visible teams will engage with the public in a number of different capacities. Candidates with bi-lingual capabilities are encouraged to apply. These positions will be non-sworn personnel and applicants must be at least 18 years old. A Police background check will be required (at no cost to the candidate). Pay: $18.00 per hour.  This role is a great way to serve your community and support the residents, visitors, and businesses of downtown Portland.
