The Town of Naples is seeking a full-time Code Enforcement Officer (40 hours; 4 days a week).  Applicants must be self-motivated and able to interpret and apply local zoning ordinances requirements to the permitting process. Candidates should have basic computer skills, be able to work with spreadsheets, and write letters related to code enforcement matters. Duties will include issuing permits, performing site inspections, enforcing state and local ordinances, and maintaining accurate records. The Code Officer serves the Board of Appeals which meets once a month as needed. If not already certified, candidates must commit to passing the certification exams in required disciplines; plumbing, subsurface waste disposal, building, shoreland zoning, legal issues, and land use within one year of employment. Preference will be given to candidates that already have certifiation(s) and have experience with residential electrical permits and inspections.
