JOB DESCRIPTION: PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS Date: 05/23/2025
Overview
- The Parking Enforcement Officer is a part-time employee supervised by the Town Manager.
- The Parking Enforcement Officer will work a variable schedule of 10 to 12 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Enforce the parking rules of the Castine Traffic Ordinance by issuing tickets or warnings as appropriate to vehicles parked in violation of the ordinance.
- Submit copies of all tickets to the town office.
- Review and comment on any application to void a parking ticket.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Town Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Graduate.
- Ability to work independently with excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.
- Available to work variable hours during the seasonal overnight parking bans.
Compensation
- The Traffic Enforcement Officer is compensated at an hourly rate and paid biweekly.
