GENERAL INFORMATION: Department: Management Information Systems (MIS)
Barg. Unit: AFSCME Professional Technical Unit (ProTech)
Status: Full-Time, 37.5 hours/week
Grade: 5 [$28.84 – $41.17/hour, based on experience]
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associates degree (A.A.) in Computer Science or any combination of education and experience equivalent to two (2) to four (4) years of related experience in computer maintenance, IT or MIS fields. Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation to assist with completing work tasks.
WORK ACTIVITIES: Support personal computer applications, hardware and software in conjunction with the Computer Operations Specialist. Record and broadcast city council meetings. Assist Marketing Director in ongoing development of the City’s website and related infrastructure. Research program requests from PC users coordinating with the WAN Administrator. Determine options for program requests through acquisition, or develop the program with existing products, such as Access. Develop, test and show PC users how to utilize new programs and provide written instruction. Monitor PC systems and make changes as necessary. Perform general maintenance tasks, such as configuring and/or updating internet browsers and other application tools. Respond to questions and assistance requests regarding office automation products: MS Office, Corel Office, Windows, Internet Tools, etc. Install and configure PC hardware and software. Train employees on office software suites, as needed. Plan and provide training for support operations such as network usage, data integration, and migration/conversion techniques. Coordinate PC products to existing primary computer systems. Perform other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE: The schedule for this position follows the current Lewiston City Hall employee schedule. Additional time required for council meetings and emergencies.
