The Police Chief position is a full-time, salaried leadership role, working a Monday through Friday schedule, providing stability while remaining actively engaged in community policing efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and oversee all police department operations, including patrol, emergency response, and community engagement.
• Supervise, mentor, and support department staff, maintaining high professional standards.
• Manage the departmental budget and ensure responsible use of resources.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, town officials, and other public safety agencies.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, as well as department policies.
• Prepare reports and provide recommendations to the Town Manager and Select Board.

Qualifications:
• Associate degree in criminal justice, public administration, or a related field preferred; bachelor’s degree a plus.
• Graduate of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy or eligible for waiver.
• Minimum 8 years of law enforcement experience, including 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Valid Maine driver’s license and ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
