JOB DESCRIPTION:
A Reserve Officer is an entry-level position for individuals looking to begin a career in law enforcement. Start your career in a supportive environment that promotes learning, professionalism, strong ethics, and positive community relations. Tasks include enforcing the laws of the state of Maine and the ordinances of the Town of Ogunquit, responding to general assistance and emergency calls, patrolling Ogunquit Beach, Perkins Cove, and downtown Ogunquit, assisting full time law enforcement personnel, issuing citations, traffic enforcement, investigating motor vehicle crashes, taking police reports, engaging in criminal investigations, making arrests, and serving as a positive role model in the community. Ogunquit hosts one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, a vibrant inclusive community, busy nightlife, and a team of dedicated officers who are proud to serve this wonderful community. The Ogunquit Police Department also boasts a proud history of helping new candidates reach their full potential and achieve their law enforcement life goals.

Starting Pay: $21.00 per hour. PAID INTERSHIP OPPORUTNITIES AVAILABLE!!!


REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Age: 21 y/o, or 20 y/o with at least 60 credits from an accredited college by June 01, 2024
Experience: None necessary.
Physical: Must be able to pass a physical agility test.
Education: Must be enrolled, or have graduated, from an accredited college or university.
Additional: Applicants should have no adult criminal history and only minor motor vehicle history. Must be willing to work day, evening, and night shifts as well as weekends and holidays The successful candidate will be able to get along with others in a professional manner while performing all duties required for the position.
