Professional Development and Property Manager

 Sanford Police Department

 

The City of Sanford is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fulfill the position of Professional Development and Property Manager for the Sanford Police Department.  This is a salaried position.  The typical hours of work are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

 

The Accreditation, Compliance and Property Manager is an advanced administrative position where the incumbent is responsible for managing and coordinating the department’s accreditation program, the evidence/property function and to ensure compliance with the standards mandated by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy Board of Trustees, Criminal Justice Information Services Security Policy, Maine Bureau of Labor Compliance Directives, and the Maine Department of Corrections Short Term Detention Area standards. 

 

This position includes reviewing, interpreting, and implementing amended and/or new accreditation standards and determining how to author and integrate policy into the Department in order to remain compliant with Maine Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (MLEAP) standards, conducting inspections of sections and units,  communicating with the Police Chief, Command Staff and respective Department employees on results of inspections, and providing recommendations on non-compliance issues and findings.  Data gathering plays an additional role in many of the processes undertaken by this position. 

 

The Accreditation Manager supports the mission by proactively developing, drafting, updating and/or recommending department policies, regulations and procedures to ensure effective operations, provide clear and thorough guidance, enable prudent decisions, and promote a workplace of excellence. 

 

Applicant must have worked in a law enforcement environment, be proficient in Power DMS, familiar with the MLEAP assessment process and familiar with the Bureau of Labor, CJIS and MDOC auditing process.
