The Town of Dover-Foxcroft has an immediate opening for Assistant to the Code/Health and Assesing Office. This is a part time position (approximately 30 hours per week). The Selected applicant, if not already trained, will be trained and become state certified in Land Use, Shoreland Zoning, and Legal Issues. The qualified applicant's responsibilities will be to assist in issuing land use, shoreland, demolition, and floodplain permits; assist with and attend Planning Board and Board of Appeal smeetings, assist with enforcement actions, maintain records of all related transactions, and attend trainings. Applicant must have the apility to work effectively with contractors, workers, building owners, other municipal employees, and the general public. The position will support the local Health Officer in their administrative functions and serve as support staff for the assessors agent. The position requires a basic understanding of assessing including the process for applying for abatements and key assessing dates throughout the year, and requires entry of assessing data into Trio Assissing Software.
