The Town of Mechanic Falls is looking for highly motivated and community-oriented individuals with a powerful desire for public service and a commitment to serve.

All applicants must be at least 21 years of age (20 years old with an associate degree), a high school graduate or GED, and hold a valid driver's license.  Successful candidates will be required to pass a MCJA physical agility test, Alert exam, an extensive background investigation, polygraph testing, psychological exam, physical exam, and interview board(s).

The Town of Mechanic Falls offers a comprehensive benefit package with compensation up to $30.85 per hour depending on experience. No experience, no problem we are willing to train you with starting pay starting at $24.13. With the pay rate is set to increase this July to $25.34 thru $32.39 depending on experience.   Our Police Officers work a 12- hour rotating schedule with every other weekend off. Sergeants and below are represented by the Fraternal Order of Police.

The Town of Mechanic Falls offers a comprehensive benefit package including Maine State Retirement plan. In lieu of MEPERS, ICMA 401 plan is offered. The town also offers a strong health insurance plan (Anthem Gold Blue Choice PPO) for the employee and their family with the town paying 95% of the premiums. Dental and Eye care plans offered w/additional cost. HRA: Health reimbursement account that reimburses employees for deductible and most out of pocket expenses. Current levels of $3000 single, $6000 spouse, children, and family.
