The Scarborough Sanitary District is seeking a Full-Time Plant Laborer/Operator. This position is responsible for performing a variety of custodial services throughout the plant and performs work necessary in the daily maintenance and operations of the wastewater treatment plant and must be able to respond directly to emergency situations and be on call on a rotating basis.

Effective communication, motivation, and dependability are required.

Experience and Education/Training:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Work experience in a wastewater facility desirable; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the jobsystems, or other wastewater facilities.

Licenses/Certifications:
• Current valid State of Maine Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Current valid State of Maine Grade 2 Plant Operator’s License, desirable
