The Town of Camden is seeking applicants for a full-time position of Administrative Assistant in the Planning, Development and Assessing Office. This is a 40-hour per week, year-round position. This position is responsible for providing a variety of administrative, communication, and technical support functions for the department. The administrative assistant engages daily with the public and is the customer service face of the Department, greeting walk-in customers and visitors, while also answering Department phone calls. The work involves extensive interaction with the public and requires the ability to handle routine administrative details independently and to establish and maintain working relationships with the public and co-workers. Considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures is desired. The successful applicant must have exceptional computer, organizational and customer service skills. Primary responsibilities, aside from administrative support to department staff, include processing department applications and payments and maintaining records, files, and databases, while assisting with special projects, and assisting with the preparation for Board meetings. In addition, the assistant will work with the Town assessors with maintaining and processing assessing records.
High School diploma (or equivalent) is required, supplemented by two years of college or university training; or an equivalent combination of work experience and training. Prior Experience working in an office environment or in another role which required working with the public. Position start date is July 1, 2024. Prior municipal administrative work experience is desirable.
