Maine Audubon will be holding 3 introductory Stream Smart workshops this spring at the following dates and locations:

April 3rd at the Forestry Department at UMaine Ft. Kent

April 23rd at the Greenville Public Safety Building

May 8th at the NRCS office in Presque Isle

These workshops will be helpful to all professionals who are responsible for road-stream crossings-including contractors, road commissioners, public works departments, conservation commissions, engineers, planners, land trusts, watershed groups, and private landowners. Participants in these workshops can also receive recertification credit for the Maine DEP Voluntary Contractor Certification Program, continuing education credits through the Society of American Foresters, and professional development hours for professional engineers.

Maine Audubon will also be hosting a Stream Smart for Municipalities workshop on March 26th at the Topsham Town Hall. This workshop is specifically aimed at informing municipalities of the value of Stream Smart crossings as well as providing information about funding that is currently available to help offset the costs of these culvert replacement projects.

Registration information can be found on the Stream Smart workshops page
