Course Information:

This full day workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Dog licensing: fees, late fines, monthly reports, rabies clinics, wolf-hybrids, etc.
  • Hunting and fishing licensing: fees, requirements for obtaining a license, service licenses, monthly reports.
  • Business licensing: liquor licenses, special amusement permits, sole proprietor D/B/A, and other local licenses that all municipalities are required to provide by state statute will be reviewed.

Certification: This program is an optional course for the Maine Town & City Clerks’ Association’s certification program.

 

NOTE: All participants should have a copy of the Municipal Licensing & Permitting Handbook as well as a copy of the Municipal Clerk’s Manual. Manuals are available to purchase online at https://ebiz.memun.org/PersonifyEbusiness/Store or by calling the MMA Publications department at (207-623-8428). Manuals may also be downloaded for free from MMA’s website (www.memun.org), in the member area under "Legal."

 

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Cancellations must be submitted using this Cancellation form to cancel your registration for an event. Cancellations received before 7/15/25 will be assessed a $15 administrative fee for processing. Cancellations received on/after 7/15/25 will be charged 50% of the course fee. Any registrant who does not attend and does not cancel their registration (i.e., no-show) and any cancellation received the day of the event will be charged the full registration fee. Exceptions to this policy will not be considered.

Certificates: A certificate of attendance will be provided to you on site on the day of the training and MUST be picked up at the event. Certificates of attendance are not mailed or reproduced.
