The Town of Damariscotta (the Town), in partnership with the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT), is undertaking a planning feasibility study along Main Street (Route 1B). The primary objective of this study is to provide the Town and MaineDOT with enhanced scoping recommendations for MaineDOT’s upcoming reconstruction project. This study will evaluate the study corridor for bicycle and pedestrian improvements, evaluate the functionality of the corridor based on current and anticipated traffic growth, and provide access management recommendations. The study team is also looking for recommendations on enhancing the Main Street / School Street intersection based on public input.
