The Town of Farmington is accepting bids for the replacement of the Hippach Fieldhouse Metal roof.  Sealed bids, which must be clearly marked “Parks and Recreation Hippach Field Roof Replacement Bid”, must be received at the Town Office, 153 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, ME  04938, no later than 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 17th.  Bids will be opened and read aloud publicly in the Municipal Building Conference Room, and tentative bid award will be made at that time.  Formal bid award will be made by the Board of Selectmen on Tuesday, April 23rd.

Before submitting a proposal, all bidders are advised to carefully examine the specifications and fully inform themselves as to the existing conditions and limitations under which the work will be performed.  Failure to do so will not release a successful bidder from the contract documents and/or from completing the contemplated work for the consideration set forth in the bid.

Bidders may be required to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Town that they have adequate personnel, equipment and experience to perform the services required by the specifications and shall furnish such information to the Town promptly upon request.

The successful bidder will be required to provide a certificate of insurance before the contract will be signed.  Workers’ Compensation and General Liability insurance shall be maintained throughout the term of the contract and shall be written with a qualified insurance carrier having an A.M. Best B+ rating or better for the past year.  The amount of general liability insurance shall be not less than $400,000 each occurrence and not less than $1,000,000 aggregate.

By acceptance of the contract, the successful bidder will agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Town, its agents, officers and employees from any and all claims, losses, liabilities or expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising as a result of the contractor, its employees and agents performing services under the contract, including but not limited to specifically any claim, loss, liability or expense which may arise as a result of death or personal injury to the contractor or any person engaged by the contractor who is not fully compensated by workers’ compensation insurance carried by the contractor.

The Town of Farmington reserves the right to accept and/or reject any and all bids and to waive any of the bidding formalities as may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
