BID 1: TENNIS COURTS RECONSTRUCTION – Courts Only

INVITATION TO BID

The Town of Yarmouth, Maine, herein referred to as the Owner, is soliciting sealed proposals from contractors for the construction of improvements associated with the Tennis Courts Reconstruction Project located near 52 School Street, Yarmouth, Maine.  The Tennis Reconstruction Projects are a portion of the Royal River Park Improvement Project (LWCF# 23-00905) and are partially funded by the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

Proposals will be received until 12:00PM local time on Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Yarmouth Community Services Dept, located at the front of Yarmouth Town Hall, 200 Main Street, Yarmouth, ME 04096.

PREPARATION OF BID

Drawings and Specifications will be provided electronically to contractors who register as plan holders. Contractors should notify Karyn MacNeill, Director, Yarmouth Parks, Recreation, & Community Services (YCS) via email at kmacneill@yarmouth.me.us of their intent to bid. Hard copies may also be reviewed at the YCS office Monday-Friday, 9:00am – 4:00pm.

Hard copies of the bid materials can be provided, by request, to any registered plan holder for the cost of printing. Contact Karyn MacNeill via email at kmacneill@yarmouth.me.us to arrange pick up and payment details.

 

QUESTIONS

Questions regarding the work or specifications should be directed to Karyn MacNeill, Director, YCS, Yarmouth Parks, Recreation, & Community Services via email at kmacneill@yarmouth.me.us. Questions must be received by 3:00PM on Monday, May 20, 2024. An addendum, if required, will be issued by the Owner by Thursday, May 23, 2024.

 

PRE-BID CONFERENCE

No Pre-Bid Conference will be held. Contractors and sub-contractors are responsible for reviewing the bid documents and visiting the site to review conditions in advance of submitting bids.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project consists generally of the following items in accordance with the drawings and specifications presented in this Project Manual:

  • The work consists of partial depth reconstruction of the existing double tennis court located near 52 School Street including the reclaiming of existing pavement, preparation of the base, installation of a new court surface of hot mix asphalt pavement and sports coatings, provision and installation of net posts, net anchors, and nets; and new asphalt paths. The project requires installation of erosion and sedimentation control BMP’s and the application of loam, seed, and mulch.
  • Fencing contract will be managed by the Owner and must be installed before surface paint/sports coatings.
  • Removal and disposal of the current fencing will be completed by the Owner.
