The Town of Denmark is requesting written proposals from qualified Bidders for Road Paving 2025. This includes furnishing all labor, equipment and materials required to satisfactorily and safely conduct all work. The Town reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals in whole or in part and to waive any informality the Town may determine necessary. The Town also reserves to itself the exclusive right to accept any proposals when it is deemed by the Town to be in its best interest. The Town is governed by Title 1 M.R.S.A. § 408-A, the Freedom of Access Law, which treats Bid Specifications as public documents. In awarding any proposal, the Town may consider, but not be limited to, any of the following factors: bidder qualifications, price, experience, solvency, financial standing with the Town, history of claims with the Town, history of work quality with the Town, warranties, references, insurance bonding, compliance record, safety record, delivery date, work schedule, and past and present service of Bidder. Paving is to be completed to the satisfaction of the Town no later than September 30, 2025.

Sealed bids labeled “Road Paving 2025” will be accepted at the Denmark Town Office, until 4:00 pm, Monday, June 9, 2025.  

Bids will be opened at the Select Board Meting June 10, 2025 and awarded at the June 24th Select Board Meeting.

Scope of Work

Paving Tasks to be completed:

LORDS HILL RD:   3730’x21’    8703 SY  (off of Rocky Knoll Rd )

• Pave ¾ spot shim 9.5mm 1250’ x 21’   with tack 2889 SY
• Pave 1.25” overlay 9.5mm with tack
• Place shoulder gravel 1’ wide
• All thickness levels are after rolling
• Sweep and prepare road surface for paving
• Lane width to match existing lanes
• Twelve-inch wing outs on driveways
• All approach aprons to match                                 
• Grinding joints for intersections butt joints

ROCKY KNOLL RD:  15700’X21’     36,663 SY

• Pave 1” 9.5mm surface with tack
• Pave driveway apron in 1’ to match existing
• Place 1’ shoulder gravel
• All thickness levels are after rolling
• Sweep and prepare road surface for paving
• Lane width to match existing lanes
• Twelve-inch wing outs on driveways
• All approach aprons to match                                 
• Grinding joints for intersections butt joints
