The Town of Freeport is seeking a full-time Buildings & Grounds Worker to support custodial and maintenance operations across municipal buildings and public grounds.

Ideal candidates are motivated self-starters who can work independently and as part of a team. Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor are essential. Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience operating light trucks and small motorized equipment
• Prior work in a municipal transfer station or recycling center environment

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform indoor custodial work, including mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and general cleaning of Town buildings
• Conduct grounds maintenance, such as mowing, raking, trimming, trash removal, and landscaping
• Assist with seasonal tasks like snow removal and painting
• Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Support the Public Works Department with additional maintenance duties as needed

Position Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Hold a valid Maine driver’s license
• Able to perform physically demanding labor outdoors in all weather conditions
• Will be required to pass a pre-employment physical

Job Details:

• Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, with holiday coverage and occasional overtime
• Starting Pay: $20.33/hour
• Department: Public Works
