Administrative Assistant, Part-time - South Berwick

The Town of South Berwick is looking for a part-time, 18-20 +/- hours per week, employee to assist Code Enforcement, Fire and Public Works with clerical duties, customer service, special projects, and events.

This position will report to the Code Enforcement Officer, Fire Chief and Public Works Director, and will provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the Town.  Duties will include performing tasks related to organization, filing, typing memos and letters, creating and updating forms, assisting the public, updating and maintaining a section of the Town’s website.

The position requires an energetic team player that is self-motivated and possesses the ability to prioritize duties and work independently.  The candidate must be customer service oriented and have

the ability to communicate effectively with other staff members as well as the public.  Accuracy, attention to detail, and proficiency in clerical tasks and computers, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, is a must.

Employee may be eligible to accrue two weeks of vacation per calendar year, which accrues weekly beginning on the date of hire.  In addition, employee may be eligible for holiday pay and sick pay, both of which are prorated. 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven administrative experience, including computer competency skills
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability
  • Aptitude for learning new software and computer systems
  • Be a team player

Pay is commensurate with experience $24-$26 per hour
