Public Works, Automotive Foreman

The Town of Lisbon is seeking an experienced Automotive Foreman to join its Public Works Department. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position. 

An employee in this position directs the automotive and equipment repair and maintenance activities of the Public Works maintenance facility. The Automotive Foreman is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and evaluating uniform practices and policies relating to automotive and heavy equipment service and repair. Additionally, the Automotive Foreman leads the work of a mechanic, oversees fleet management, and develops and maintains a comprehensive maintenance program for the town fleet.

Key Responsibilities of Position:
The employee in this position is responsible for the supervision of skilled mechanics and for establishing an efficient shop maintenance program entailing all phases of garage operations. This position requires planning and scheduling work so that Town vehicles and equipment will remain in proper operating condition by making decisions as to the serviceability and adequacy of equipment. Work is performed with considerable independence within a framework of general policies and is reviewed by the Director of Public Works through the analysis of shop production maintenance records, equipment operation, and personal observation.

Pay ranges from $30.63 to $33.14 based on experience.
