Job Summary:
The City of Ellsworth is seeking a highly motivated and reliable Facilities Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time position primarily responsible for janitorial services and light maintenance across multiple municipal locations. The ideal candidate will take pride in keeping public spaces clean, safe, and functional for staff, residents, and visitors alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure cleanliness and proper function of municipal buildings, including:
- Bathrooms
- Office areas
- Public spaces
- Perform light maintenance tasks such as:
- Painting
- Basic repairs
- Routine inspections
- Snow and ice control
- Respond to facility needs and perform other related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must pass an extensive police background check
- Some carpentry or mechanical ability is a plus
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Self-starter who works well independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to public safety and cleanliness

- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment
- Familiarity with building maintenance and safety procedures

- Dependable, punctual, and flexible with assigned tasks
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently
Salary:
$50,000-$55,000/yr. The City of Ellsworth offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees in both their professional and personal lives.
