Job Summary:
This position is responsible for managing group lesson programs while offering all aspects of ice skating instruction to people of all ages and abilities, specifically offering instruction in basic skills, hockey skating skills and figure skating skills. In addition, this position is responsible for offering opportunities for clinics, parties, exhibitions and shows relating to ice skating.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Management of student records with assistance of office manager.
- Management of Coaches/Instructors associated with the program.
- Management of all students enrolled in program as to evaluation, placement, test structure, guidance.
- Communicate with all parties enrolled in program and answer in a timely fashion all inquiries from interested/concerned parties.
- Educate families/participants in maintenance of equipment associated with skating; promote the skate sharpening service at TIA.
- Provide opportunities for private instruction with all TIA Coaches/Instructors to those interested without influencing those in skating community not interested in same.
- Work with rink management staff to schedule year-round lessons and other ancillary activities.
- Work with rink administrative staff to disseminate all information regarding skating lessons in a timely, clear and accurate manner.
- Promote ice skating lessons at TIA through available media.
- Produce and direct any scheduled ice show and exhibitions. Responsibilities include fundraising to cover any costs, production of events, music, choreography, costuming, script production, management of associated Coaches/Instructors and participants.
- Work with rink management staff (ice procurement) to provide as close to year-round opportunities for figure skaters to train at Troubh Ice Arena.
- Oversee lesson schedule; make and enforce all rules and guidelines that affect skaters, coaches and guardians; be occasionally present at offered freestyle sessions to encourage coaches and visitors from other areas to utilize our facility.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a progressive skate instructor.
- Must have the ability to lead, promote, manage and maintain the rink’s instructional programs and skating activities.
- Must establish, uphold and maintain consistent policies and procedures for the rink as a whole, as well as, the skating department.
- American Red Cross CPR certified.
Expected Hours/Schedule:
This position requires a flexible schedule that includes nights and some weekends.

On Call Hourly Rate: $18.00/hour.
