We strive to enhance the health and well-being of the residents of Portland in collaboration with our community, state, and federal partners.

Job Summary:
The Barron Center is a long-term care facility with an excellent reputation for fostering a caring and creative work environment. We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team who want to make a difference in their community and our residents' lives. Our Nutrition Services department has opportunities available for general kitchen support.
 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Tray set-up for individual residents

• Dish washing

• Additional food service and preparation related tasks
 

Required Skills & Experience:

• High School completion is required. Prior experience in a food service environment is preferred.

• Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions

• Must possess valid Maine Class C driver’s license
 

Expected Hours/Schedule:
Full time, 37.5 hours per week including weekends and rotating holidays. 
Current available schedules are either 6:45am-2:45pm or 11am-7pm.

The successful candidate will be subject to a pre-employment physical exam. Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.

 

Salary & Benefits:

This is a union position - CEBA, Grade 1M - Starting pay rate is between $18 - $20.94 per hour, based on experience.
