Are you skilled in trades work? Or maybe you are a student earning a degree or certificate in a skilled trade? If so, we want you!
The Parks, Recreation & Facilities Department - Public Buildings Division is currently hiring a trades worker position. This position will work in conjunction with other trades professionals to perform duties such as floor plan layout for commercial space, drywall hanging/patch/repair, painting, rough carpentry including general construction and maintenance of City-owned buildings, piers and floats. This position will require heavy lifting and carrying of supplies needed for projects. The applicant must possess a willingness to assist and learn different operations of the Public Buildings Division and a dedication to getting the job done in an effective and efficient manner.
Necessary Special Requirements:
• Successful candidates must possess a valid Class B driver's license in good standing or have the ability to obtain a Class B license within 6 months. We will train you for free!
• Must undergo pre-employment fitness assessment, pass a federally mandated drug test.
• Must be able to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) certification.
• This position requires mandatory participation in winter operations.

Salary & Benefits:
Labor & Trades Union position - Grade 51 - Starting salary range $24.33/hour; $973.20/week up to Step 6, $28.21/hour; $1,128.40/week. Steps are based on years of relevant work experience
