The City of Sanford is currently accepting applications for a full time Administrative Assistant position in the Treasurer/Tax Collector/City Clerk Department.

This is a responsible financial and administrative position requiring a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail including reconciling bank accounts and internal accounts, maintaining departmental records and compiling financial reports. This position requires extensive customer service and the ability to deal courteously with the public. The position also requires the ability to accurately work with figures, payroll processing, accounts payable processing, as well as a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel. Knowledge or experience in basic accounting and bookkeeping is required.

Graduation from a high school is required.   Graduate of a two year post-secondary secretarial or business school is highly desirable. Considerable experience in accounting or banking is highly desirable. Customer service and cash handling experience is required. Previous municipal office experience preferred along with knowledge of Munis software.  Any equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered in lieu of the above.
