The Town of Monmouth is accepting employment applications for a part-time Code Enforcement Officer/Plumbing Inspector. This position also serves as the E-911 addressing officer and may occasionally serve as Building Inspector for the Town. Depending on the credentials of the successful applicant, this position would be responsible for reviewing permit applications, citing land use and code violations, reviewing construction plans, working with property owners to resolve issues, maintaining appropriate files, preparing reports,  and answering questions from the public regarding Town ordinances and adopted codes. We anticipate a need of 15-20 hours/week.

Maine certification as Code Enforcement Officer and Licensed Plumbing Inspector is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.  A construction and plumbing background are strongly recommended but not required.

The ideal applicant must possess strong and effective customer service skills; demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communications, operate standard office equipment including a personal computer using MS word, Excel, Outlook & Internet Explorer/ Google Chrome. The  pay rate for this position will be $30-$35 per hour, depending on qualifications.
