The Town of Brunswick is seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong ability to multi-task for an opportunity to create a challenging and gratifying career as an NG 911 Call- taker/Dispatcher. The ideal candidate will be able to deal effectively with a diverse public as well as public safety responders in routine and emergency situations while demonstrating a high level of communication skills both verbal and technical. The successful candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, as well as experience and proficiency in the use of computers.  You must also have the ability to receive and disseminate information accurately and without delay; maintain composure during extremely demanding and potentially stressful situations and have a high attention to detail.  Prior experience preferred; however, detailed training will be conducted with the selected candidate.  Training will also include required certification for a State of Maine PSAP and Dispatch Center.   

Following application, candidates will be advised of details regarding a mandatory position-specific written/audio test.  Interviews will be extended to the highest-scoring candidates, to be determined based on the final application count.  The final candidate must pass an extensive background check, pre-employment physical (including audiogram), polygraph and psychological exam.  This Union position has a pay range of $25.14 to $33.68 per hour, depending on education and experience.  The Town's benefits include options for health, dental, life and disability insurances; retirement plan choices, paid vacations, compensatory time, personal time and holidays.
