The Town of South Berwick is looking for a full-time employee to work in the Business Office/Clerk’s Office. The schedule averages 33-35 hours per week, Monday thru Thursday. This position is one of the main contacts in the Clerk’s Office for members of the public. The essential functions include helping the public register cars, trailers, dogs, issue vital records, and more. This position has advancement potential to become an assistant or Deputy Town Clerk.
The position requires an energetic team player that is self-motivated. Candidate must be customer service oriented and have the ability to communicate effectively with other staff members as well as the public. Accuracy, attention to detail and proficiency in cash handling a must.
Employees are eligible to receive vacation, sick and holiday pay as well as other benefits including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, MainePERS Retirement, 457b Retirement.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a resident of Maine.
- Notary Public, or the willingness to become a Notary Public
- Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent is required.
- High standard of public relations and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in TRIO software is preferred.
- Ability to learn new things.
- Motivated and detail-oriented team player.
- We are seeking a customer service representative with excellent communication and people skills.
- Ability to accurately record, maintain records, and accurate cash handling.
- Experience in working in a Municipality is preferred.
Any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
Pay commensurate with experience in the range of $21-24. Applications accepted until filled.
