The City of Ellsworth, one of Maine’s fastest growing communities, is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Deputy Finance Director.

This position assists the Finance Director in the planning, organization, and direction of all functions performed by the Finance Department. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of principles and practices of budget analysis, personnel management, municipal borrowings, work planning and organization, general ledger maintenance, bank and balance sheet account reconciliation and maintaining financial reporting compliance with GAAP and GASB.

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in accounting and three years of increasingly responsible professional accounting or financial management experience. Experience in government fund accounting or non-profit accounting is strongly desired.
