The Franklin County Detention Center has openings for full-time and part-time Corrections Officers, subject to Article 10 of the agreement between the Franklin County Commissioners and the NCEU for the Franklin County Detention Center. Under the general supervision of the Corrections Sergeant and Lieutenant, this position is responsible for the care, custody, and control over inmates.

Qualifications Include:

• Must possess a valid Maine driver’s license.
• Completion of the Basic Corrections School at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and completion of the 100-hour law enforcement certification program preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Computer literacy
• Courses from a two-year college or university and one to three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The full-time position offers a competitive benefits package which includes paid time off,  health insurance benefits, and retirement. Starting pay for this position is $22.76.
