Matinicus Island Plantation Seeking Full-Time Administrator

It is an exciting time on Matinicus. We are seeking the right candidate who wants to live and work on a small remote island

and play a central role in helping build a unique sustainable community. We do not require candidates to have prior

experience as an Administrator. The Maine Municipal Association offers training sessions, and the selected candidate would

be required to attend such training sessions. This is a position for an individual looking for new and unique challenges who

wants to make a difference for their neighbors and their community. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills;

be able to work independently; oversee a part-time staff and volunteers; identify and apply for funding and grant

opportunities; develop the town budget; oversee ongoing island projects; and stay up to date with all compliance issues

involving Plantation government. While the Administrator will report to, and be held accountable by, the Plantation’s Board of

Assessors, candidates must be able to work independently on a day-to-day basis. Salary will be commensurate with
