The Town of Bar Harbor has an opening for a full time mechanic. The position primarily serves the Highway, Parks and Recreation, and Transfer Station work areas of the Public Works Department, but also maintains the fleet for other Town Departments- Assessing, Fire, Police, etc. The ideal candidate will have mechanical ability and training to maintain and repair heavy construction equipment, including diesel- and gasoline- powered, and be proficient in the diagnosis and repair of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
