The Town of Lisbon Public Works is currently seeking a full-time Operations Manager. The person in this position attends pre-construction meetings and provides input regarding the feasibility of maintaining proposed projects and is also responsible for maintaining adequate maintenance records, including as-built updates. This position assists the Public Works Director in departmental planning, scheduling and general administration.
Special Requirements Include:
- Ability to oversee and coordinate activities, assist with the preparation of departmental operating and capital improvement budgets, and control budget expenditures.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise written reports and develop appropriate recommendations, effectively manage assigned areas of the departmental program, establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work, and work extended hours as needed.
- The required education and experience include having a working knowledge of finance, administration, and budgeting, and at least five years of increasingly responsible experience in a public works environment.
- At least two years in a supervisory or administrative capacity. Alternatively, any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable.
- Must possess a valid Class A CDL issued by the State of Maine.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and physical, including substance testing required.
The normal schedule for the Public Works Operations Manager in the spring/summer/early fall is Monday-Thursday 6 am - 4:30 pm. The late fall and winter schedule is Monday-Friday 7 am - 3:30 pm, unless called back for a storm or repair emergency.
The pay range for this position starts at $31.09 per hour depending on experience.
