Recreation Programmer (Part Time) - Recreation & Community Activities Department
Start: When Available
Pay: Based on Experience
Position Overview: The Town of Naples is looking for a motivated individual to assist the Recreation and Community Activities Director with all Town recreation programs and events.
The position is part time, with the possibility of becoming full time. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Recreation and Community Activities Director.

Qualifications

  • An understanding of recreation programs and principles, including youth and adult recreation programs.
  • Knowledge of youth sports and activity programming.
  • Strong people skills, including in-person and electronic communication.
  • Organization and planning.
  • College level course work and/or experience in recreation, athletics, physical education, or related field of study is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement recreation programs.
  • Work with large groups of children in activity and event settings.
  • Organize, distribute, and maintain equipment and uniform inventory.
  • Perform sports field upkeep and preparation.
  • Assist the Recreation Director with youth and senior activities, as well as community events.
  • Prepare and distribute communications.
  • Assist with the recruitment of volunteers.
  • Direct some entry level youth sports programs.
  • Research, recommend, and implement new recreation programs and events.
  • Work at Naples Summer Camp.
  • Aid in fundraising activities.
  • Perform related work as required.

CPR/ First Aid certification is provided. Lifeguard certification may be provided for some interested candidates.
