The Town of Cumberland is hiring a full-time Parks Groundkeeper/Equipment Operator. This position involves a combination of skilled and semi-skilled work within the Parks/Public Services Department. Duties involve all aspects of ground maintenance at all municipal recreational facilities. Duties will also include becoming part of the Towns snow plowing team during the winter months. The successful candidate must be able to operate mowers, weed whackers and ground maintenance equipment, drive and operate a dump truck with snowplow and wing, front-end loader with a bucket, and other road maintenance equipment. Must be extremely dependable and able to perform heavy physical labor and be able to work in all weather conditions. Will be required to work other than normal working hours during storms and emergency events. Must possess a valid State of Maine Class B Commercial Driver’s License or have the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.  Starting pay for this position is $26.30 per hour with a monthly on-call stipend during the winter months.
