The Town of Dresden is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Fire Chief for our volunteer Fire Department.

The Fire Chief provides leadership for all firefighting, fire prevention, and fire safety operations, as well as EMA duties. This is a part-time position with an annual stipend for administrative duties, emergency responses, and training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct all firefighting and fire prevention activities
• Supervise and maintain equipment and facilities
• Implement training programs meeting state safety standards
• Prepare and manage the department budget
• Develop and enforce department policies and procedures
• Serve as incident commander at emergency scenes

Qualifications:

• State of Maine Firefighter I & II (Fire Officer I & II certifications preferred but not required)
• NIMS/ICS relevant certifications
• Valid Maine driver’s license with Class B endorsement or equivalent EVOC
• Residency within a reasonable distance of Dresden
